Thyroid Disorders

Thyroid disease is one of the most common, yet misunderstood and overlooked, conditions in Americans. It's estimated that in the United States, at least 27 million—and as many as 60 million—people have thyroid disease. Women make up the majority of thyroid patients. And unfortunately, people who have a thyroid problem but are not yet diagnosed make up the majority of thyroid patients.

The thyroid gland is located at the front of your neck. This gland secretes hormones that govern many of the functions in your body, such as the way the body uses energy, consumes oxygen and produces heat. Thyroid disorders typically occur when this gland releases too many or too few hormones. An overactive or underactive thyroid can lead to a wide range of health problems. The good news is most thyroid disorders are treatable even without medication. Contact us to set up a Thyroid screening and see if you are a candidate for our Medical Nutrition Program.

We treat the following Thyroid Conditions:

  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Thyroid Goiter
  • Hashimoto’s Disease
  • Grave’s Disease

At Active Living Health Center, we evaluate each person as a whole, not just based on bloodwork. One of the main reasons Thyroid Disorders go undetected is because of inaccurate interpretation of bloodwork. To evaluate the thyroid properly, a functional evaluation of the body must be done. At our office each patient is given an individualized plan that encourages them to make diet and lifestyle changes that control the inflammatory response of the body and correct the root cause of the dysfunction.

Each Program Includes:

  • Initial Examination and Consultation
  • Comprehensive Bloodwork to identify nutritional deficiencies
  • Guided Purification to rid your body of toxins and help it function optimally
  • Nutritional Consulting
  • Personalized Diet Plan
  • Physician Grade Supplements
